An aerial short film, “The Sinking Ship” of the SS Palo Alto, also known as the Cement or Concrete Ship. She was built at the end of World War 1, though never saw any battle. In 1929 she was brought to Seacliff State Beach in Aptos, CA and parked permanently. I remember being able to walk out onto the ship when I was a kid in the 90’s, though today it is totally closed due to deterioration (as you can see in the video!)
Now it is home to many birds and sea animals that you can see in this film, such as sea lions and dolphins. Too bad there were no whales nearby when I was shooting!
